Upcoming Events
Our events are all about bringing people together. Whether it’s a craft session, a social get-together, or an accessible day out, every activity is designed to help you connect with others who understand life with Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus.
Everyone is welcome — members, families, carers and friends. Come along, have fun, share experiences and feel part of a supportive community across North & West Yorkshire.
All events are free or low-cost to attend thanks to funding from the National Lottery Community Fund and the Postcode Lottery.
All our events are FREE for NWY ASBAH members, including siblings, parents and carers. To make the best use of the funding available, we ask that enough people book on so sessions can go ahead as planned.
Cafe Social

Fancy some time out with other parents and carers? Want to make friends, share experiences and support one another in a relaxed, welcoming space. No pressure – just time to breathe. Everyone is welcome and we change the venue to make sure as many of you can take part as possible.

From aardvarks to zebras and everything in between, Chester Zoo promises a day full of amazing animals, adventure and great company. This event is for the whole community but will only go ahead with sufficient numbers. Register your interest today.

Community and Connection Festival

The NWY ASBAH Community Festival is our biggest event of the year - a day for us, dedicated to fun, friendship and connection. With activities, entertainment, food and opportunities to meet other members and families, it's a chance to come together, celebrate our community and create lasting memories.

Peter Pan at the Alhambra, Bradford.
Starring the legendary Billy Pearce as Smee, you'll love this high flying swashbuckling adventure. This family treat brings the magic of Neverland to the stage with Smee's comic charm, Tink's sparkle, the scheming Captain Hook and a very friendly crocodile.

Thursday 22nd October, 1:30 to 4pm
Shipley Library, 2 Wellcroft, Shipley, West Yorkshire, BD18 3QH
During this session, you will create your very own masterpiece to take away and display at home. Hosted by Canvas and Cava, this is a relaxed, guided painting session which everyone will enjoy.

Adults Social
Thursday 3rd December 1pm till 3pm
Shipley Library, 2 Wellcroft, Shipley, West Yorkshire, BD18 3QH
A festive creative session for adult members to make, chat and unwind together. Come along and decorate a ginger bread house. Settle in with unlimited (almost!) tea, coffee and biscuits and enjoy a relaxed, welcoming space to switch off and connect. Also ideal for parents and carers who’d like a little time for themselves.
