North & West Yorkshire ASBAH (“NWY ASBAH”) is committed to protecting your privacy and handling your information safely and responsibly.

NWY ASBAH is a community organisation supporting children, young people, adults and families affected by spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus across North & West Yorkshire.
We work in partnership with Shine charity, who provide specialist services and clinical expertise to our members.

  • Details of individuals supported (including age and condition if shared voluntarily)

We do not request or store medical reports or case notes.

  • Contact you about membership and upcoming events

  • Ensure safeguarding and welfare

  • (only where consent is given) send newsletters and event promotions such as Connect+

  • Shine charity, where this enables specialist support for members

  • Safeguarding or emergency services, where safety is at risk

We store data securely using password-protected systems with multi-factor authentication.
Paper records (if used) are kept in locked storage.

Data is retained only for as long as necessary. You can request deletion at any time unless safeguarding or legal obligations apply.

  • correct inaccurate information

  • delete your information

  • change or withdraw consent for:

    • marketing emails

    • photography and videography

    • WhatsApp group participation
